about

Here's another couple of remixes from my back catalogue for you!

There are some absolute gems in here, my personal favourite being the one for Kieran Mahon from this EP of his - kieranmahon.bandcamp.com/album/particles - the original is free to download from his Bandcamp too, so go grab that (and all of his other stuff).

The other two were commissions I received from artists who I love a great deal.

I couldn't quite believe it when Brandt Brauer Frick asked me to work on something for them! Their music is incredibly rich and I struggled at first to tame their organic tones, so I pretty much took the whole track and slammed a massive kick drum under it. It pulses and throbs and almost spills over itself, but I just manage to control it.

For Axel Toben's remix I wanted to dust off my acid touches, so I dug out my TB-303 plugin and started worked on a rhythmical bass pattern to suit his slow electronica. There's a shimmering organ sound in there too that's from the original, but manipulated and effected quite a bit from my side. I've played this one out in quite a few DJ sets and mixes.

Kieran's remix only took me about 40 minutes as it was so lush to start with! I processed his track through a bunch of pedals and my reel to reel to make a gigantic thick atmosphere. There's a little bit of soft piano playing in there too to give it some tenderness.
