I work a lot in the commercial world and write music for many different uses ranging from full feature films to documentary scores.

Here's a bunch of tracks from various projects, some of which were used and some didn't quite make the pitch on that occasion.

The Prada commercial was an excellent one to do and can be seen here - www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGGit4_oeGE - the narration is from Iain Glen, so I was in full fanboy mode over this one.

The Foster Care music was for Five Rivers Foster Care, which was an old commission I did.

The Horror trailer was a demo for a potential full feature film that was planned, which was fun to compose as I'd never done a trailer before. Writing trailer music is incredibly intense as you have to get each mood exactly right and there are so many hit points to note.

Both of the car commercial music tracks were from the same commission, which unfortunately didn't succeed, but that's totally normal and part of the job as composer. When you pitch your demo you're up against other composers and also every other piece of music that's already been written and released, so it's extremely competitive. In this instance they went for a big pop track instead of something specially composed. My original brief was to write something similar to 'Gemini Feed' by BANKS, which is an unreal track, but they wanted something a little more bouncy.

REALLY wish I'd subscribed sooner to be able to enjoy this on vinyl! Curious the artist cited 12 Monkeys and not La Jetee as one of the key inspirations. For me, this has a more somber, introspective and timeless feel more akin to La Jetee than 12 Monkeys (though I also am a big fan of Terry Gilliam). Gorgeous music and you get the bonus of a list of excellent movies to enjoy (another note to the artist: Time Crimes is also a good film to watch). Now to somehow procure a vinyl copy...
